Curator Curated

I had been thinking about how we decide what gets kept in the frame and what gets removed. What is part of the art and what is not? And who decides? I felt as though much of what I was doing in painting was tidying up chaos which unfolded by itself. I recorded a performance where the object being displayed takes a short break from being on display to maintain the environment in which it is being displayed. It is intentionally absurd, and strangely humorous. This film also was an attempt to topple the paintbrush from it’s spot on top of the “most important types of brush” heirarchy within the field of art.
